Again, the helmet cover here, was a Navy / Marine thing I'm not sure the issue requirement, but not the standard ERDL pattern of the time you see gunners on small boats, and shore side personnel and some Marines with them. I understand in WWII all meant is what wave your in for hitting the beach, 1st brown camouflage, 2nd green camouflage, and solid green and none or something like that, or with beach you were assigned- say if you hit 3 places at once.
